iPhone – A Great Gaming Platform Poised To Make Waves During Holidays
After playing a few games on iPhone, I am very convinced that Apple is making strong attempts to make a significant impact in gaming industry. John Doerr from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers also seemed to indicate the same at Web 2.0 summit. It is also apparent as KPCB has funded ngmoco:) Inc to create and publish great games for iPhone.
Per iTunes App Store and O’Reilly Research, Games is the largest category in Top 100 Paid Apps. The number of applications in most gaming subcategories has doubled over the last eight weeks:
With some free games and many games costing less than $2, iPhone games are poised to generate a lot of buzz this holiday season. Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft must watch out.
