Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, has been super popular since the term was officially introduced in 2005.  It is the ceremonial kick-off of the holiday online shopping season in the US.  Shoppers looking to avoid the crowd at brick-and-mortar stores flock to their favorite online retailers on Cyber Monday and scoop up great deals.  Some sites might offer deals earlier than Monday to attract early shoppers.

Per Shop.Org’s press release, “83.7 percent of retailers will have a special promotion for Cyber Monday, up from 72.2 percent last year.” According to Scott Silverman, Executive Director of Shop.org, online retailers will be extremely competitive to offer the very best deals as shoppers focus on price this holiday season.
